It may be a wonder to note that, more than 1500 languages, big and small, are found in India. Of this, eighteen languages are recognized by Indian constitution. English is widely spoken in India by educated people. Hindi is the dominant Indian language and is the official language of Indian Government. It is spoken in majority States. It is thought that, this language derived from the Sanskrit – one of the oldest languages of the world. Many provinces in India have their own state languages.

Bengali, Gujarati, Marati, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Oriya and Punjabi are among some other popular regional languages. Urdu is widely spoken by Muslims. Many Indian languages sound sweet, pleasant and are very easy to be learnt by anyone in the world. Many Indian languages’ self-teaching books are available in India.
