Indian Culture Philosophy

Indian’s everyday life is intertwined with the spiritual worships to multiple Gods. Religion and Family are at the core of Indian society. India’s major religion is Hinduism which is followed by almost 84% of Indian population. Caste is the basic social structure of Hinduism. Prayers to Deities, ritual and sentiments play a significant role in Hinduism. Hindus believe that every living being including mankind’s life is cyclical i.e. one is born again and again in some form after the death. The ‘Fear of Sin’ haunts Hindus for doing evil deeds. Islam is India’s largest minority religion. Buddhism, Jainism, Christianity etc. are among other minor religions. By and large, majority Indians are soft, religious and conservative in nature.

India gave birth to internationally acclaimed philosophers like Ramakrishnaparmhamsa, Swami Vivekananda, Rabindhranath Tagore and JIddu Krishnamurthy and many.

Leave the thinking of ‘I AM’ which is the sign of Ego. It is a feeling of Superiority to God. When you leave the feeling of ‘I AM’ it enables you to submit yourself sincerely to the Almighty and…

Ramakrishna Parmahamsa

Your Timidity is your Failure. Your Courage is your Victory. You are the Master of your life. You are the creator of your own destiny. Arise! Awake! And stop not till the goal is reached. Your body is a mine of energy… Strength is Life, Weakness is Death…They only live who live for others, the rest are more dead than alive….

Swamy Vivekananda

When one knows thee, then alien there is none, then no door is shut. Oh, grant me my prayer that I may never lose touch of the one in the play of the many…

Rabindranath Tagore

(Rabindranath Tagore won the Noble prize for literature in 1913, for his collection of poems – “Geetanjali”. )

When you look at this life of action—the growing tree, the bird on the wing, the flowing river, the movement of the clouds, of lightning, of machines, the action of the waves upon the shore—then you see, do you not, that life itself is action, endless action that has no beginning and no end. It is something that is everlastingly in movement, and it is the universe, God, bliss, reality. But we reduce the vast action of life to our own petty little action in life, and ask what we should do, or follow some book, some system.

Jidu Krishnamurthy
